Service has been a core value of Higher Running since the very beginning. When we can lend a helping hand, we try to do so. Below are the current ways we’ve been giving back. We know it’s not enough and we’re committed to doing more in the future.
Giving Back
We proudly support a wide range of organizations doing critical work. Some highlights:
-
1% for the Planet: Since 2015, we’ve donated at least 1% of all revenue to environmental nonprofits. A portion has gone to groups like SOS Outreach, which empowers youth through outdoor experiences.
-
Team Herren Project: We offer free training plans to support people affected by substance use disorder through this incredible organization.
-
In recent years we’ve raised funds through our training plans for Girls on the Run, The American Red Cross, The United Way, and WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.).
We know there’s always more to be done—and we’re committed to doing it.
Commitment to Equity and Inclusion
As we serve, we’re also listening, learning, and evolving. We’re committed to building a running community that reflects the diversity and strength of the real world. That means:
-
Offering scholarships and sliding-scale coaching to reduce barriers to access.
-
Maintaining respect-first spaces in our athlete forums and communications.
-
Partnering with organizations that advocate for equity, outdoor access, and representation in sport.
-
Continuing our own education so we can better understand and support the challenges underrepresented runners face.
Running is a tool for health, healing, and connection—and every athlete deserves to feel welcome in that journey.
